One of my favorite ways to unwind and find inspiration at the same time is to kick back with a favorite magazine. Stick a cup of coffee (iced during the summer, of course), and I could fill an hour flipping through an entire stack. But then I need to find a place for the stack when I'm not on mama duty, and I don't always have one at hand when I find myself with unexpected free time (it does happen occasionally). Plus I have to limit my subscriptions to a couple at a time.
Next Issue on my iPad gives me instant access to over 90 magazines to flip through any time. I've been playing with the app over the weekend and I love it. I can subscribe to as many magazines as my little heart wishes, and I'm not creating a paper trail around the house. I can read on a train, in a plane, at the house with my mouse (he's been sneaking in my kitchen at night), at the coffee shop, or out in the fresh air--I can read Next Issue anywhere! (We read a lot of kids books at our house, too.)
Right now my favorites are Country Living, Real Simple, and Fast Company to name a few. There are also plenty of mags for men. Additional popular titles include Elle, The Oprah Magazine, and Rolling Stone. You can customize your personal library by simply tapping your selections on the main title page, and start reading within seconds.
Next Issue's interface makes it easy to navigate through the pages. You can either scroll through quickly along the bottom or tap for a complete article index.
And although there's no option to bookmark your favorite pages at this time, it does look like select titles have clickable links to direct you to their website (so far Better Homes and Gardens is the only one I've noticed).
Wanna give Next Issue a try? Why they just happen to offer a free trial! Check out Next Issue here. Now I've got a stack of issues to catch up on--good thing they're all in one app!
