Maybe it's the result of being a child of the 80's, but I have a weakness for plastic canvas. I love what a versatile material it is. One of my favorite toys from my own childhood that my mom made for me is a set of plastic canvas blocks stitched together with yarn and little jingle bells inside. So in honor of the holidays and my love for plastic canvas, I made these whimsical DIY plastic canvas star lights. Click through to learn how to make your own.
- Plastic Canvas Sheets — I used 14 mesh, which is smaller than most plastic canvas, and you can find it at your local craft store.
- 8mm Jump Rings
- Jewelry Pliers
- Star Stencil — I used this one from Fiskars (from my early scrapbooking days), but any stencil will do
- Washable Marker
Next, use your pliers to open up a jump ring for each of your stars.
Loop the jump ring into the center of your star. Repeat for all your stars.
