The Monday Maker Motivator

Good morning! I think it can be a challenge for all creatives to find constant inspiration for your work. With the craziness in my life right now (you can read a bit about that here), it can be really hard for me to feel confident in myself, let alone my work. To help remedy those insecurities we all have, I thought I'd do something to help inspire and motivate us all, hence The Monday Maker Motivator. Let's give this a try, and share some inspiration to get us making and moving this week! Here are a few tidbits that are currently filling me up.

Thrift Store Collector | Vintage Aprons

I love cooking for my kids. I'm no five-star chef, but there's something about tying on an apron and putting my hands and heart to work in nourishing my kids. Granted sometimes cooking dinner for four little ones is about as fancy as hot dogs or as hectic as a tornado spinning through my kitchen, but I'll always cherish the simple act of cooking for loved ones.

One of my favorite tools for cooking a good meal is a good vintage apron. I always keep an eye out for them at the thrift store, and thought I'd share my little collection. Enjoy a little vintage apron eye candy!

Crafthouse SA Giveaway

Y'all know how much I love a good craft party, right? So of course I was thrilled when I heard about Crafthouse SA, a local social experience for ladies who like to get their craft on (that's me!). I went out to their Get Bent Craft Event last month, which combined my two loves, yoga and crafting, for an amazing event. We enjoyed a yoga workout with Mobile Om, then crafted over mimosas and yummy refreshments. Crafthouse founder Victoria did an impeccable job putting this event together, and their next event is this weekend!

Thrift Store Collector | A Few Good Bags

This post is sponsored by Goodwill SA.

I'm back this week with a peek at another one of my thrift store collections, and it's all about bags. Before I show you my stuff,  I wanted to make sure you come follow @makermama on Periscope. I shared my first scope today while I was thrifting at my local Goodwill, so be sure to come watch it before it's gone. Now on to the bags!

12 Ways to Get Your Craft on and Save the Elephants!

This post is sponsored by The Nature Conservancy in Africa

Today I am honored to be partnering with The Nature Conservancy in Africa for their #Elegram campaign to raise awareness and funds for the endangered African Elephant. My kids and I are huge fans of nature documentaries, and African Elephants are one of my faves to learn about (those elephant mamas mean business when it comes to protecting their babies!). Unfortunately the African Elephant population has decreased by half in the last 30 years.

That's where The Nature Conservancy comes in with their amazing work. From training wildlife rangers to protect elephant habitats, to educating about the illegal sale of ivory, to providing small business opportunities to those who live among elephants, The Nature Conservancy is at the forefront of protecting this precious animal. And they need our help, too!

They are collecting 20,000 handmade elephants, or elegrams, to help raise $150,000 for their elephant protection work in Africa. You can paint, doodle, or craft any size elephant your heart desires--just be sure to use the hashtag #elegram to raise awareness on social media and upload a photo of your elegram on TNC's Elegram Project Page

To get your creative juices flowing, I've collected 12 cute and quirky elephant projects!
