I went hunting for some patriotic finds at a couple of my favorite thrift stores last week and thought I’d share some ways you could make yours a thrifty 4th of July!

Of course you’ll want to start off your Independence Day with a nice cup of Joe in a flag-themed mug. Better yet, carry it out with you while step outside to get the morning paper or water the lawn and wave a friendly hello to your neighbor!

Give me LiBEARty or give me death! If cozy country is your style, you’re bound to find some red white and blue knick knacks for your walls.

And what American doesn’t want to wave our country’s flag? (We don’t have one, actually). But $3 to fly your colors is a steal!

Bedsheets are my go-to for party decor. Find yourself some patriotic linens to use as a table cloth, create a canopy, or rig it up as some sweeping bunting along your front porch–a big impact at a super-low cost (and reusable, too)!

And who wouldn’t love a 22 piece vintage book set of the Pictorial Encyclopedia of American History? I angsted over these for about 10 minutes, but in the end couldn’t justify the room they’d take up (plus there was one missing!).

And my thrifty 4th of July must-haves are patriotic party clothes! I picked out something for each of the kids to wear for our own 4th of July party, and paid less than $10 for them all! My favorite is the blue and red cherry dress for Amelia–I just about died when I saw it!

How about you? Have you made any thrifty 4th of July finds? There’s still time!
