Channeled the frustration I was swimming in yester Channeled the frustration I was swimming in yesterday into helping out at @theimpactguild today. If you’re in the Beacon Hill area and are in need of food, water, or blankets they’ve got plenty. If you have extras feel free to drop them off!
As day turned to night our water stopped working. As day turned to night our water stopped working. When I discovered the water pressure was low this afternoon I had the foresight to turn all the faucets to a trickle and collected the water in containers to store them for drinking water. Turned it off at the main and have snow melting in buckets so we can still flush the loo.

Our power comes on once or twice and hour for up to a minute at a time now. We have the gas stove to cook on thank gawd and I had all of our groceries delivered on Saturday instead of our usual Sunday.

The house is illuminated with dozens of candles I thankfully had—and lit with the matches I habitually collect at restaurants and hotels.

I’m stressed about facing bursting pipes or leaks once they thaw out, and how long it will be cold in the house for—like we all are. We’ve got blankets to pile up and pipes can be paid to be fixed. And I’ve got plenty of wine in the meantime. Here’s to gathering over some chicken tortilla soup and making it through this winter storm. And cheers to Skyler who chopped all the veggies up by candlelight.
