Valentine’s Day is next week, are you ready? As a craft blogger, I feel obligated to send my kids off to school with nothing less than handmade Valentines (no pressure, right?). And with four kids that’s a lot of Valentines, so keeping it simple is a must. That’s where these DIY Doilies come into play. Sure, store bought doilies don’t cost much, but colorful DIY ones with supplies you already have at home are even better!

The tools? A hole puncher and some paper. I happened to have a heart-shaped hole puncher which makes them even cuter. I also had a stack of neon cardstock, but you could use anything from newspaper, junkmail, old birthday cards, gift bags, anything that you can shape into a heart and punch holes in!

Use some washi tape to attach a little piece of sugar and write a sweet little message, and voilà, instant Valentine.

And don’t let all those punches go to waste, add a little confetti to your Valentine’s Day! Will you be making your own Valentine’s this year? Here’s the Valentine’s Day card I made my husband last year (with a sweet little poem, too), and a fun little spinning Valentine, too.
