Fiesta is underway here in San Antonio and it’s all about colors that pop. With nearly two weeks of parties and parades, having something fun to wear is a must. The thrift store is my first stop when I’m looking for a new dress, and I immediately fell in love with the print and colors in this muumuu–but the fit was awful. I’m no expert seamstress, but I know my way around a sewing machine well enough to work on this fun Fiesta dress redo.
I like to keep my sewing simple, so all I did was chop down the sleeves and cut out a section in the bottom to shorten the length (and keep the cute border at the bottom). I pinned the top and bottom pieces back together, stitched them up, and then rolled the remaing sleeve fabric under and hemmed them for a sleeveless look.
There you have it, a super easy thrift store refashion! Which Fiesta event will you be going all out for?
