I have a confession to make. As a craft-lover, some of my best ideas come in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep. The other week it was about 20 different perler bead crafts, including these perler bead buttons. I wrote a list in my mind before I drifted off to sleep and luckily I still remembered them when I woke up! My favorite thing about these buttons? They’re quick and easy to make! And add a pop of color to a thrifted sweater!
Materials
Circle pegboard (Can you see what’s wrong with mine? I just realized it the other week!)
Perler beads in your favorite color
Needle and thread
The only challenge with this project was making the buttonholes bigger since the perler bead buttons were larger than the original ones. I just made the new button holes over the old ones. Here’s a great tutorial for making button holes if you’ve never done them (consulting your machine’s manual can help, too).
The extra-big buttons are easy for little hands!
Tip:
Make sure you wash your garment by hand and air dry. You wouldn’t want the perler beads melting in the washer or dryer!
