October means Halloween celebrations for many of us, but here in San Antonio it also means Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. In looking for creative reuse ideas for Day of the Dead, I stumbled across a number of adorable gnome skeletons. So I prowled my local Goodwill for the perfect ceramic gnome to decorate and share with you.
I found him for 75 cents!
I picked some colors from my stash of FolkArt acrylic paint and got to work.
I repainted most of the gnome, drying in between layers, and then used a Sharpie for the details.
I think he turned out pretty cute, don’t you?
Did you enjoy this project? Check out my Day of the Dead Skull Banner, too!
