Last weekend the kids and I went out to the Grand Opening of the San Antonio Botanical Gardens new Family Adventure Garden, and we fell in love with the gardens all over again. The kids have always enjoyed winding through the paths in the Botanical Garden, but with the opening of the new 2.5 acre Family Adventure Garden, they can truly play at the garden. And if my kids were still itty bittys, I’d probably be here multiple times a week for playdates–heck, I think I might start taking them for playdates here more often anyway!

The Family Adventure Garden features Tumble Hill (a big lovely hill for rolling down), a watering hole, sand play areas, a garden maze (I missed seeing that one!), No Name Creek (a nice shallow water area for playing in), a play theatre, and more. My kids could have played there all day, and with some mama friends with me I could have, too! We also got to adopt some cosmos and bluebonnets as part of the Grand Opening. And of course we had to venture off to explore the rest of the gardens, as well.

The San Antonio Botanical Gardens new Family Adventure Garden just makes our incredible botanical gardens that much more lovable and enjoyable. We’re thrilled to be members again, and look forward to many more visits to come!

P.S. They also have a number of events happening during Spring Break, including culinary demos, a plant sale, and dog days. I’m also looking forward to more Starlight Movies in the Garden with Slab Cinema!
