Sharing is caring!

My new online course, the Phone Photography Primer course is alive and kicking, and I couldn’t be more excited to help other women, mothers, and business owners take charge of their digital imagery. I’ve taught live local workshops and digital how-tos for three years now, reaching over 10,000 people to help them improve their photos without fancy cameras or equipment. Enrollment is open for a limited time until August 31, and you can check out the full details on the course page. Here’s a little background on what inspired me to create this course…

9 years ago, I had no intentions of becoming a full-time online business owner.

I’d look at the women in my community––both online and in real life––and wonder how they found so much joy and ease in fully being and expressing themselves through their photos.

I struggled hard with the switch from working mama to stay-at-home mama, so I started my blog, Maker Mama, as a much-needed creative outlet, bringing my camera along the way to document my journey and creative endeavors.

I created in isolation from home while raising four kids, slowly beginning to take on sponsored partnerships and freelance work.

Three years later I joined this little thing called Instagram, and my creative spirit soared, finally able to connect with other like-minded creatives.

As my blog grew, I struggled with feeling confident in my photo-taking abilities, constantly seeking ways to improve my photography with the basic equipment I had, all while juggling all the other aspects of my business, too.

I committed to improving my photography, signed up for a local photography class, took photos day and night, and little by little everything changed.

I found my stride.

And I developed my own methods for getting the best photos each time to represent my digital brand.

And doing so has helped me in numerous ways, like being able to have my work featured in online publications like Apartment Therapy and Buzzfeed DIY; attracting partnerships with brands like HP, Martha Stewart Crafts, and KIA; and taking on my own social media and consulting clients when I got divorced and left my full-time job at a web development agency.

But I didn’t want to keep this experience of taking great photos to myself. I wanted others to have this same feeling. To know that they, too, are capable of taking photos that reflect the life, the brand, and the business that they’ve worked so hard to create.

So I created the Phone Photography Primer.

The Phone Photography Primer is designed to show you how to create and edit photos with the camera you already have––your phone.

I want you to take a moment to think about something that’s been holding you back––maybe it’s feeling like you don’t have the right camera equipment or that you don’t have an eye for good photos.

Then, imagine what it would feel like to bust the ceiling on those limitations and finally fall in love with the photos you’re taking and sharing online.

If you’re ready to commit to improving your photography skills, then make sure you sign up before ENROLLMENT ENDS ON 8/31.

Can’t wait to see you in the course!
